4 Reasons Why a Lake Home Never Loses its Value
1. The Lake Effect
A lake home is a unique building. It’s one-part house and one-part resort. Its almost not fair to call it a home because it so often filled with people other than the owners. I spoke to 4 different waterfront owners and each mentioned how their home was the unofficial headquarters for all sorts of events ranging from reunions, to sporting events, to and vacation getaways. Far from being annoyed these home owners are proud to have a place that can bring friends and family together.
2. Income Property
The waterfront piggybank is a real thing. All that’s needed, is for the owner to open to the door and allow an Airbnb renter the opportunity to stay for a while. For the right owner, a little effort can reap an excellent side income. In particular this, could be appealing to those seeking an additional retirement income.
3. Location, Location, Location
In many towns, lakes and ponds are situated in the most desirable parts of town…ad that is no accident. People gravitate to water and having prime access to it is highly desirable. Areas close to bodies of water will likely have higher property values, nicer schools, and neighborhoods with a higher standard of care.
4. Recreation
Who could think of a lakefront home without mentioning relaxation? For some relaxation is sitting by the shoreline sipping a lemonade watching the sunset. For others it would be boating across the waters charting their own course. Still there are others who would rather use their fishing gear to bring in the catch of the day.
Whatever your reason for living on the water, lake life sure has its perks.
